Payton Marshall has a strong desire to be involved in helping other people. Because of this, she completed missionary work in Haiti one summer, where she focused on disaster and humanitarian relief. While there, Marshall spent time in the local orphanage, the Home of the Dying, and taught children in local schools.
Having a strong passion for fashion Journalism, Marshall helped raise money and participated in the 16th annual RetroFittings Fashion Show in 2018. The show raised $190,000 for St. Vincent de Paul. She was one of several models to walk the runway in designs made by DAAP fashion design students. The students created designs from their choice of $15 worth of fabric which they could buy at a local St. Vincent de Paul thrift store. As an advocate for her community, Marshall has volunteered at The Ark Children’s Rescue Center in Springfield, Ohio. The Ark is a ministry for kids and is a safe place for them to play. While there, she did after school activities with the children and tutored them with homework. Throughout her high school and collegiate career, Marshall has been part of volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House. During her time at Wittenberg University, Marshall joined Alpha Delta Pi sorority where the Ronald McDonald House was the sorority’s philanthropy. In addition to helping with fundraisers, Marshall visited the Ronald McDonald House on many Sundays to help clean and organize the house for new guests. |
